Client: Insurance House
Client:
Insurance House, an insurance brokerage owned by Steadfast, Australia’s largest insurance broker, began as a small broking firm in regional Victoria back in 1983. Today Insurance House employs over 280 people in 21 offices nationally.
Challenge:
Insurance House was on a mission to modernize while experiencing rapid growth through acquisitions. However, they faced challenges due to the dispersed nature of their offices across Eastern Australia and the pace in which they were growing. They sought to develop a tailored program for their high-potential leaders — individuals identified through Talent and Succession processes as the future senior leaders of the organisation.
Solution:
Partnering with Insurance House, The Learning Circle crafted a highly customised Talent Program, now successfully implemented for a second cohort of leaders. Unlike conventional leadership development programs, this initiative was designed to align closely with Insurance House's strategy and people plans. The Learning Circle collaborated closely with Insurance House, engaging with senior leaders, understanding the business intricacies, and incorporating future plans into the program design.
The inaugural program comprised a cohort of 12 leaders representing diverse business segments and geographic locations. Emphasizing longevity, the program aimed for genuine transformation in leadership skills and a deeper understanding of participants' roles in executing future strategies.
The 12-month program comprised:
1. Program Briefing: An introductory session to set expectations and engage key leaders crucial for participant support.
2. LSI 360 Feedback Process: Utilising the Human Synergistics LSI Tool, followed by personalized one-on-one debrief sessions.
3. Preparatory Work for Leadership Immersion 1: Including group activities focused on strategy presentation development.
4. Leadership Immersion 1: A two-day offsite event covering LSI insights, personal development plans, team-building for high performance, and group presentations on business and people strategies.
5. Accountability Circles: Virtual facilitated conversations held by The Learning Circle between each module to ensure participants remain committed to their goals.
6. Leadership Excellence Fireside Chats: Functional-specific content led by senior business leaders.
7. Masterclasses: In-depth leadership sessions for skill enhancement.
8. Leadership Immersion 2: Another two-day offsite session focusing on developmental growth, a CEO Panel Discussion, Leadership Letters, and managing difficult conversations.
9. The Ragged Mile: An engaging team-building activity, styled as "The Amazing Race Insurance House Style."
10. Graduation Dinner: A celebratory event attended by participants and senior leaders.
11. One-on-one Final Coaching Session: A concluding session to establish future goals for ongoing development.
12. Mentorship for Future Cohorts: An opportunity for participants to serve as mentors for the next cohort.
